At Newport High School, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive Physical Education program that encompasses the pillars of ‘Physical me’, ‘Personal me’, ‘Knowledge me’, and ‘Healthy me’. Our mission is to empower students to lead active, balanced lives, cultivate personal resilience, acquire essential knowledge, and foster lifelong habits of health and well-being.

1.    Physical Me: We believe in the power of physical activity to enhance physical development and overall well-being. Our Physical Education program aims to provide students with opportunities to engage in a wide range of physical activities, sports, and exercises, promoting the development of motor skills, coordination, strength, and endurance. We encourage students to explore their physical potential, embrace an active lifestyle, and strive for excellence in their physical endeavours.


2.    Personal Me: Physical Education is not just about physical prowess; it is also a platform for personal growth. We recognise the importance of fostering character development, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence in our students. Through our program, we aim to instil values such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance, resilience, and sportsmanship. We provide opportunities for students to set goals, overcome challenges, and develop a positive self-image, fostering personal growth and confidence.


3.    Knowledge Me: Physical Education goes beyond physical activity; it encompasses the acquisition of knowledge about the human body, nutrition, and the benefits of an active lifestyle. Our curriculum includes educational components that empower students with essential knowledge related to anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and nutrition.
