As part of the National Literacy and Numeracy Framework, all KS3 pupils in Wales will be expected to complete one National Reading Test and two National Numeracy Tests (Reasoning and Procedural).
The Procedural Tests must be completed on-line and are personalised, adaptive tests. These will take place in school between Thursday 14th March and Tuesday 26th March 2019. There will be another opportunity to complete the Procedural Tests in the summer term.
The Reading and Numeracy Reasoning Tests will be completed between Monday 29th April and Friday 10th May 2019.
Please inform the school if you know in advance, or on the day, that your child will be absent between these dates.
A leaflet explaining the tests in further detail is available on the ‘Learning Wales’ website, and previous years’ tests are available to download below.
The results of the tests will be communicated to you at a later date. If your child does not sit a test, they will score zero.
Please ensure that your child has the correct equipment in school to complete the tests (pens, pencils, highlighter, eraser, sharpener, protractor, calculator and ruler).
Please contact the school if you have any concerns or queries about these arrangements.
