10 Psychology & Biology students from Newport High took part in the Cardiff University Wales Brain Bee Competition on Wednesday 13 December. The event aims to motivate students to learn about the brain, capture their imaginations, and inspire them to pursue careers in neuroscience and brain research.
As part of the competition, students participated in a mix of practical lab work, video clips and written exercises to encourage them to learn more about one of the most complex structures in the universe – the human brain. They competed in a series of challenges and a multiple choice written tests. The highest scoring school was awarded the 2017 Wales Brain Bee award, with prizes of Amazon vouchers worth £50, £25 and £10 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place students on the day. We are pleased to say that Molly Mitchell achieved 3rd place and won £10 worth of Amazon vouchers.
