Bishop of Monmouth Visits Newport High School

We were delighted to welcome the Rt Revd Richard Pain the Bishop of Monmouth to Newport High School today. Bishop Richard wanted to find out more about our Daily Act of Collective Worship (DACW). He looked at our resources and students work. He spoke to our students about what DACW means to them and took part in a one of our DACW sessions. He saw how DACW helps to prepare students to negotiate and debate the world around them and reinforces the schools ethos of tolerance and respect. At the end of his visit he agreed with Estyn’s recent judgement that our practice was truly exceptional. Thank you Bishop Richard we look forward to seeing you again soon.
