Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

EMA is a weekly payment given to some students aged 16–19 to help them stay in education (like sixth form or college).

How much you get

• Up to £30 per week, depending on your household income.

Who can get it

• Students in full-time education (not university).
• Household income below a certain threshold.
• You must meet attendance and coursework requirements.
