Newport High School

Dear Parent / Carer

Having been Deputy Headteacher since 2005, it is a privilege to write to you to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Newport High School. I am delighted to have been appointed and will continue to work to promote the achievement and success of our students, staff and local community.

I am dedicated to developing happy and successful students. I want Newport High School students to be excited and engaged by all that we have to offer. I know that good learners continue to achieve and feel fulfilled throughout their lives. The school has made significant improvements over the last year and has tremendous potential; I am thrilled to be able to lead the school into its next phase of development.

The new term 2010 begins on 2 September 2010 with an INSET Day. Students in Years 11, 12, and 13 will return to school at 8.45am on Friday 3 September. Students in Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 will return to school at 8.45am on Monday 6 September.

The school uniform shop will be open in the school reception between 10am – 1pm on Wednesday 4 August and Wednesday 18 August. All school uniform will be available to purchase at these times.

I look forward to working with you all and to a very exciting future for Newport High School.
