Post 16 Partnership
Newport High School is also part of the Newport Post 16 collaboration. This collaboration offers students a huge variety of high quality courses across the city. Each institution involved in the collaboration, entered into it, in order to provide their students with the best and broadest range of opportunities possible, but it has become much more than that. The students who take part in the collaboration have enjoyed the opportunity to meet students from across the city. They have been able to access the best specialist teaching within the city, and enjoyed a more college like feel to their education whilst retaining the support and personal contacts that a school can offer.

For three years we have been a member of the Post 16 Partnership. This successful partnership is a commitment between five educational establishments across the city of Newport. Each institution involved in the collaboration, entered into it, in order to provide their students with the best and broadest range of opportunities possible, but it has become much more than that. The students who take part in the collaboration have enjoyed the opportunity to meet students from across the city. They have been able to access the best specialist teaching within the city, and enjoyed a more college like feel to their education whilst retaining the support and personal contacts that a school can offer.

 A joint prospectus has been produced that offers students over 50 different choices of courses delivered across the city.
Student timetables are designed to allow them to access the full range of courses and make use of the best learning facilities that the City of Newport has to offer. Students who choose courses from different institutions will move around the city on buses that are provided solely for their use. The bus timetables have been co-ordinated with the student timetables to ensure that they arrive promptly for all lessons.
